Research Associate

S2 Genomics, Inc. is a leading provider of systems for preparing single-cell and nuclei suspensions from solid tissues for single-cell genomics. We are seeking a Research Associate.
 
Job Description: 

  • Designs and conducts lab experiments to develop and verify Singulator systems.
  • Conducts literature reviews as needed to develop new protocols for single cell and nuclei isolation.
  • Acquires, analyzes, summarizes, and presents data in the form of presentations
  • Keeps a complete record of all experiments
  • Writes and contributes to publications, articles, reports, and presentations
  • Works with rodent, human, and other tissues
  • Prepares progress reports
  • Sets up, calibrates, and maintains laboratory equipment
  • Trains to currently designed Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Guidelines
  • Requests or acquires supplies or equipment as necessary
  • Assists in the development of new Safety documents, Work Instruction documents, and Standard Operating Procedure documents
  • Responsible for general upkeep of the laboratory including maintaining clean lab benches, making sure labware is cleaned, placing chemicals in their appropriate containments, maintaining MSDS’s, and ensuring waste is disposed of properly
  • Assists in manufacturing of consumables and reagents

Required Experience:

  • B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry related fields
  • 1-2+ years laboratory experience

Desired Skills:

  • Tissue Dissociation, single-cell prep, nuclei prep
  • Tissue isolation and handling
  • RNA extraction and QC
  • scRNA-Seq, sNucRNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, 10X single cell workflows
  • Knowledge of general lab protocols (pipetting, buffer prep, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of qPCR, microscopy, cell biology, and spectroscopy
  • Lab experience is preferred
  • Experience with aseptic technique
