West Coast Sales Manager

S2 Genomics, Inc. is a leader in creating system solutions for preparing single-cell and single-nuclei suspensions from solid tissues for genomics and cell biology applications. We are looking for a highly motivated and result-driven Sales Manager to join our commercial team for the Western United States territory. Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell our products into academic, clinical, pharmaceutical and government laboratories in the U.S. Western territory
  • Develop a strategic territory sales plan, and execute on it to create business results, to meet or exceed territory sales targets
  • Create and develop a strong sales pipeline through prospecting activities and driving the opportunities
  • Conduct consultative and strategic selling presentations
  • Negotiate contracts and execute pricing strategies to grow and to develop business
  • Understand the single cell analysis market trends, products, customer goals, priorities, and challenges to address customer needs, gain competitive intelligence, and effectively compete in the territory
  • Effective use of seminars and tradeshows for lead generation and educational opportunities
  • Manage sales process by using the CRM system and keep the system current
  • Support customers on product knowledge with input from R&D/field application scientists

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with initiative and solid business acumen and judgment
  • Technical credibility to consult with customers on the preparation of single cells from solid tissues for downstream applications
  • Understand scientific workflows, project needs, and business needs of the customer to win the business
  • Coordinate to conduct effective demonstrations of the product to prepare single cell and nuclei suspensions from solid tissues
  • Proven ability to sell life science solutions to key opinion leaders and to buying decision stakeholders including C-suite contacts
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Strong technical, business, and financial acumen
  • Highly effective negotiation skills
  • Support ongoing communications with existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction


  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field; or equivalent knowledge and experience.  A Master’s or Ph.D. degree is desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in Life Sciences with capital equipment sales experience
  • Strong desire to establish long-term customer relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of next-gen sequencing and/or single-cell-genomics and –multi-omics
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Knowledge of accounts in territory
