Field Application Scientist – East Coast

Position Overview:

As a Field Application Scientist, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our customers, ensuring the successful implementation and utilization of our products in their research and workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

We are seeking to add a Field Application Scientist with experience with single cell workflows and analyses located in the Northeastern US to join our team that will support the commercial adoption of our Singulator Platform and our customers based on the East Coast of North America and Europe. This role will report to the Vice President of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Support:
    • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing solutions related to our products and applications.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and contribute to the development of customized solutions.
  2. Product Demonstrations and Training:
    • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of product capabilities and optimal usage.
    • Provide technical training to internal teams, including sales and support staff.
  3. On-Site Support:
    • Visit customer sites to provide on-site support, including instrument installation, training, optimization, and troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of our products into customer workflows.
  4. Application Development:
    • Work closely with R&D and product development teams to stay informed about new product features and updates.
    • Contribute to the development of application notes, technical documentation, and other materials to support customer understanding and use of our products.
  5. Customer Feedback and Market Intelligence:
    • Gather customer feedback and insights to provide valuable input for product improvement and development.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and market demands to contribute to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Molecular Biology or Genomics).
  2. 2 years hands on single cell genomics experience through lab or previous FAS position.
  3. Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and applications related to single cell genomic products.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  5. Familiarity and willingness to use CRM tools, Zoom, and MS Office.
  6. Willingness to travel to customer sites including in Europe and conferences as needed.
  7. Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
  8. Clean and valid driver license.
  9. Based close to either Boston, New York City or Baltimore/Washington DC.

Nice to Haves:

  1. Bioinformatics experience, especially pertaining to single cell data analysis using existing tools or developing simple scripts in R or python.
  2. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Field Application Scientist or in customer-facing technical support.

Compensation:

Below is the salary range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

Base Salary Range – $90,000 – $125,000 USD
